Not to worry, he's not up to anything sinister.
Or at least not anything more than the usual. Gail is
in the other room painting some candy wrappers,
and for some strange reason I have this craving
for some chocolate. OH, yum!
We have an audio book on at the moment. This
time it's the unabridged version of a Michael
Crichton book titled "PREY". It's about 13 hours long.
The person reading the book is not a name I am
familiar with, George Wilson, but he is doing an
excellent job. Anyone that is unfamiliar with his
novels, or his name, need only remind themselves
of Jurassic Park, The Andromeda Strain, Disclosure,
Congo, and the creator behind ER, on television.
A rather vivid imagination? You got it!
Dumb and dumber, this is not. Needless to say, it's
a very informative and mesmerizing book. Bottom
line,"Don't mess with mother nature and be very
cautious with what you are about to create." It just
might turn on you.
As a footnote to my earlier posting; The Volstead Act of
1919 led to the passage of the 18th amendment, which
was Prohibition. It was repealed in 1933. Women in this
country gained voting rights in 1920. A strange, but
fascinating, period of history in this country. Stock crash
of 1929 and the Great Depression. History is anything
but dull and boring.
Just thought I would toss that out there.
Mr. Squiggee gets to write a letter this evening., and
I shall fill you all in on the result of this action. You will
find the subject matter quite interesting. The recipient
of the letter won't, however. I shall be civil, but very
emphatic.
I doubt that my take on the TNNA show in Phoenix
shall sway any ones opinion, or make any drastic ripples.
But, when you look around you and see all these
little mom- and-pop stores disappearing, only to be
replaced by some behemoth corporate entity, it might
make one come to the realization that, if you want your
small business to survive and flourish, you can't be
complacent.
"Check the chicken", says Omar. "Smells good".
